Evenfall
Limerence illuminated the ways of my heart,
Beating another moment to feel.
A soft touch tugged me away—
Gone. Be it for a moment.
I digress,
I try my best.
And, if—only for a moment—
I could discern
Whether it be the dull heat of a knife in the back
Or the gentle fluff of a good morning, Love,
The perfect evening I will make.
And against the night's shivering cold, I stood
Like last embers of dying flame. Solely
On the edge of the gleaming vast pool of obscurity.
The world and her lights passing me by,
Shadows forming a figure I
Infatuate with a lovesick heart.
Hark, nothing's out to get you,
I whisper in the comfort of my own wistful breath.
